Twist the clockwork clockwise. The product is made of wood, so it may have grain, pits, holes, etc., which are features of wood rather than quality problems. The measurements may have errors. The colors of the product(s) may differ slightly from what the pictures show.
I purchased this music box for my granddaughter. It took some time to arrive. It is a very cute design, and I know it will delight my granddaughter, but the construction is less stable than I had expected (especially the swing: it looks as if it could fall apart anytime) and the music box does not sound of high quality. I.e., a few notes out of key—not as musical as I have found in better quality music boxes. Finally, this is a whimsical, child-oriented design, but the music box plays a somewhat melancholy tune. Given the shipping time, it’s too late to ask for a replacement before the event, but I do wish I’d chosen another music box from another vendor.
